Residents and businesses have joined together to create a petition against Argyll & Bute Council’s parking proposals for the village of Luss. This was today presented to Argyll & Bute Council office in Helensburgh with 199 signatures.

Luss Estates opened Luss Wee Shop at the beginning of August 2016, offering a handpicked selection of Scottish gifts, homewares, toys, books and food. A chiller section provides soft drinks and smoked salmon from Luss Smokehouse.

Gardens in Luss, Aldochlay and Bandry were visited by the judges Margaret Duggan and Luss Estates Head Gardener Jackie Theaker to decide on the 2016 winners. They toured the villages looking at front gardens, hanging baskets and tubs.

Luss Estates will host an event in conjunction with Argyll Native Woodland Co-op on October 14, 2016. The event will be a series of talks and practical demonstrations, aimed at improving knowledge and understanding of assessing, harvesting and marketing hardwood timber.

Farmers in the Argyll & Bute and Forth & Clyde regions attended a farm crime prevention and fire safety event hosted at Luss Estates. The event, organised jointly by NFU Scotland, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Forestry Commission and Scottish Land & Estates, provided an opportunity to discuss current rural crime and fire-related issues.

Loch Lomond Young Farmers' Stock-judging Competition 2016 was held at Luss Estates' Ballyvoulin Farm on the 11 June. 85 competitors took part with many more people along to spectate and support. Over £500 was rasied for LLYFC.
