Luss Estates Welcomes Royal Highland Education Trust to Luss Estates

We were delighted to welcome RHET to Luss Estates on the 5th and 6th September, 2019.

280 pupils from East Dunbarton school visited Duchlage farm over the course of the food & farming event which was held on the 5 & 6th September, which was hosted by Luss Estates.

Sheila Bannerman, Project Co-ordinator for Dumbarton, Lomond & Renfrew, said: “During the course of the day the pupils took part in 8 workshop sessions ranging from learning about dairy farming and produce, cereals production and products. SNH provided sessions deer management , QMS (Quality Meat Scotland) on meat production and health diets, Keep Scotland Beautiful of waste awareness, Police Scotland on the SPARC project making pupils aware of rural crime and Vets from Glasgow University Vet School explained about their roles. The pupils also learned about the produce that we grow in Scotland in a session where they tasted vegetables in many different forms, they also found out about livestock farming.”
