Rural Crime Prevention Event Hosted at Luss Estates

Farmers in the Argyll & Bute and Forth & Clyde regions attended a farm crime prevention and fire safety event hosted at Luss Estates. The event, organised jointly by NFU Scotland, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, Forestry Commission and Scottish Land & Estates, provided an opportunity to discuss current rural crime and fire-related issues. On the 17 June 2016 attendees arrived at Luss Estates to view practical demonstrations on security systems, crime prevention equipment and fire safety techniques. This followed on from previous successful events held at other locations across the country by NFU Scotland and other stakeholders to encourage farmers to take practical steps to secure their property.

Tom French, NFU Scotland's Regional Chairman for Forth & Clyde commented: "NFU Scotland continues to work with partner agencies to provide farmers with practical advice on protecting their property...including general and specific fire safety and crime prevention measures, including against wildlife crime."

Iain Wilkinson, Luss Estates Company's Rural Business Manager, commented: "We were delighted to be a part of this important event, helping to spread best practice on how to secure and protect rural assets. We hope all the attendees found the event as worthwhile as we, at Luss Estates, did."
