Arrochar Community Hydro Finalist in the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2018

Arrochar Community Hydro Society has been announced as a finalist in the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2018 for the award category of Best Community Project Award. Arrochar Community Hydro was initiated by Luss Estates and the land on which it is situated is leased by Luss Estates to the Community Hydro Society at a peppercorn rent. This scheme benefits both Luss & Arden Development Trust and Arrochar & Tarbet Development Trust, bringing funds into these communities for them to reinvest in community developments.

Scottish Renewables organises the Scottish Green Energy Awards to recognise the determination and innovation - and the people, organisations and communities - that have helped the renewable energy industry evolve during these challenging times.

The other projects shortlisted in the category are:

  • Community Energy Scotland for the Surf 'n' Turf Project

  • Fair Isle Electricity Company for the Fair Isle Low Carbon Energy System

  • Awesome Energy Dalriada for the River Avich Hydro Scheme

  • Ore Valley Housing Association for Dundonald Wind Turbine

The winners will be announced on the 6 December 2018.
