Music, Celebration, and Recognition: The Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band’s Annual Event

The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel in Luss was the setting for a fantastic evening on Friday, February 21, as the Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band hosted their annual event, attended by their main sponsors, Sir Malcolm and Lady Colquhoun.

The night began with a lively performance from the band, featuring a selection of tunes, including the 6/8 march, The Colquhoun March.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lady Colquhoun Shield, awarded to Alasdair Huxtable for his outstanding progress within the band over the past year. In addition to the shield, Alasdair was presented with a crystal-engraved glass keeper trophy by Sir Malcolm Colquhoun. A special award was also given to the youngest member of the band, eight-year-old Rowan Garden.

As a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work, Sir Malcolm and Lady Colquhoun presented Pipe Major John Low and Band Secretary Colina Helen Campbell with champagne, recognising their invaluable contributions to the band.

It was a memorable evening, celebrating the band's achievements and the ongoing support that keeps their traditions alive.
